SEE DJERBA Project
I would like to participate in the SEE DJERBA Public Viewing because our water issues here in Palestine aren’t only environmental but largely political. There is a push to get us away from our land and water. There are borders that divide us from the beautiful powerful sea. Some have gone most of their lives without accessing it. Our resistance is a movement towards being back in harmony with the land and sea.
I aim to illustrate a metaphysical dimension through her layered and often surreal photography and video work by using documentary and studio-created footage. In doing so her visual vernacular becomes a vehicle to explore inner-states of nostalgia, emotions and imaginative spaces.
